I concur - solid black tins with the gloss blue frame may not look that hot IMO...

I love the matte black look myself. I just put together my night train bobber project and I had the tank n fender sprayed matte black. But with your blue frame I think the blue scallops will pull it together better. I would PC as many parts as possible in flat/matte black also. That would look sick and give your bike a very unique look. Good luck

Add the Blue !

I'm sitting on the "add the blue" side for sure... playing off the blue frame will give it a good balance and keep the tins from being too much black real estate. End the end stay true to YOUR theme...

Alright..staying true to the original theme.....next set of opinions / pics in about 2 weeks or so will be of the same tins with flat blue scallops and silver pinstriping. So I wanna see what it looks like all flat so I know whether to spray it with gloss clear or matte clear. Thanks for the comments....I knew the answer just want to get back on the road...

So, it took a little longer than expected. Side business picked up and of course switched commands and a bit more busy now at work....but finally got the tins with the scallops and pinstriping complete. Gonna get dropped off for clear coat tomorrow. Sorry for the crappy pics (phone cam)
