Default stock cable and lines with apes?

What is the maximum ht. I can go with stock cables and lines on a 07 Softail Standard?

most cables can be pulled up / back about 3" before you start running out of slack. Not quite worth the effort there in my opinion.

Easier? No, The right thing to do? Yes

A cable bind while riding could be a matter of life or death. I don't like those odds.

I would say buy the apes (size) you want and then get the cables to fit. You will be much happier getting the size you want instead of what you have to buys to fit the OEM cable length. Check out Hill Country Customs. They have what you need.

Im sure you can pick up some FXSTC take offs to get into some apes cheep and easy then get what you want down the road. At least that's what I did.

Yes, don't make the exact same mistake I made. I wanted apes and kept buying bars that fit my cables instead of what size I really wanted. I went threw 4 sets of mini apes till I finally said f-it and bought the right bars. Yes, it does cost a bit more and there is a bit more effort involved but you'll be kicking yourself if the bars aren't what you really wanted. It will just bug the crap out of you.
