Default Considering a Swingarm Bag??

Hey Guys, I am considering a swingarm bag for my scoot. Any pros or cons?

I ran across LaRosa bags on ebay specifically the Ostrich to match my seat. Anybody have any opinions on these bags?

Also, any other models that you would recommend?

If the quality is similar on the one you're looking at compared to the plain black leather one I got off ebay, you'd be happier looking at another manufacturer's bag.

I bought both a La Rosa and a Leatherworks solo bag.
Comparing them side by side, I gave the La Rosa away.

I have the Leatherworks one, its great. Definitely get the 5", it will barely fit a sweater in it, but its great for running without my larger Heritage bags to allow me to carry a few things.

Other people also swear by Garage Leathers.

Purchased Leatherworks 312x.
Went with the fatter 5" size. Couldn't decide between the 3" or 5", but figured I might as well make it functional.
Took extra couple weeks for the custom features, chrome spots, braiding, & REAL roller type buckles.
I always hated the "fake" quick-release snaps behind "show" buckles that are found on most saddlebags.
Being able to order with "old school" roller buckles made the difference for me. I can spend an extra 2 seconds to open the bag.
Fits perfect with bike theme.

Any of you guys have trouble with water getting into the swingarm bag? I am mainly concerned about the slots in the back where the straps go through. We are planning on making some of these and we want to make sure they don't leak so we need to know if the slots work fine or if we need to design a different mounting system.

Thanks
Garry

No experience, it might be a problem but I try to avoid rain when I'm not on a trip. Short bouts of rain wouldnt be a big deal, I dont think.

Another 5 incher out of ebay. Bought it in 09. I wanted a plain bag at the time. A little design wouildn't hurt. This bag has plastic quick releases under each buckle for instant release and quick attaching. I don't ride in rain.

Default I Love my Leatherworks 5" Bag

I love my Leatherworks 5" Bag. It only holds my rain gear, some bungies and a small pouch of common items (tire gauge, Sunpass, etc.). But this is really all I need for around town. I do take off and replace with one quick detach saddle bag if I'm doing an all day ride, so I can take lots of Gatoraide. The craftsmanship is excellent, but the leather straps are a little bit of a hassel to do/undo when you want to pop it off/on. It looks great on the bike, compared to a full saddle bag.

I did have to rotate the tool box into a near vertical position to clear; the asethics don't bother me, but some might not care for this. It was easy, to make this change, because just needed to drill two new holes in toolbox and supporting bracket. Does not touch either the passenger or myself. Cheers, Kevin.
