i have the same one Mathis installed on my 2010 FatBoy Lo..install was very very simple and straightforward.. and didn't even need to plug the device in to the ECM to get the mileage, was updated automatically.
I am assuming you replaced a regular speedo with this. Did you have to do anything special to get the tach & fuel gage working if there was none there before, or is all the info already being send through the existing wiring?
Am I correct that the odometer reading is in the ECM now and so they do not require dealer certification anymore?
This model has the switchable colors and uses the odometer toggle button to select them, right? How does that work, obviously you don't want to go through the colors everytime you switch your odometer readout.
Thank!!

I chatted with the head mechanic at Sandy's HD about this. We even opened a package to look at the instructions.
Before the unit can be used you must transfer the odo data from the ECM via the provided pigtail that plugs into the service port under your seat.
As far as the tach, no special wiring was needed, so I guess it must get this info from the ECM. Fuel would also come from the ECM as that data must be present on existing speedos to calculate range.
Lastly, from the HD web site, the gear selection is simplify calculated from the speed/rpm relationship. This of course will assume stock gearing.
