Default Would you be mad?

Here's the story.

I ordered a fairing for my deluxe, and before ordering I asked if they had or were going to have any specials. They said no. O.K, so I order it and the a week later they have a special that would save me $100. I call them and ask if the special can be applied, and they so "normally we don't do that but let me see what I can do" another week goes by and nothing, so I email them. It's been a week since and still nothing. Customer service is huge to me, and if it's this bad now forget it after I get it. I actually asked about the return/ cancelation policy ( had it custom painted) because I'd rather cancel it now.

Won't mention what brand yet.

i'd keep on them.. calling rather than emailing. sometimes sales are spontaneous though, like the owner will say "ok lets do a 15% off deal"..so they may have not lied to you, just didn't know.. but yeah i'd keep bugging them

Read the fine print on their website. It might have a reference to after purchase sales, sort of like Best Buy or Target.

It's unfortunate, but that's the luck of the draw in retail. The person you talked to may have honestly not known about a sale. And most retailers do not honor pre-sale prices after the sale starts. It irritates you, but that's the reality of it.

Wow that was fast. I emailed them again right before I started the thread, and wow asking about a return policy gets people motivated. They said we will give you the discount now.

It going out by Friday they said. Sucks that Monday on going on a long trip and won't have it. Oh well that's on me not them.

I am still mad about it, and in no way was I being pushy or rude. Still might send it back.

I'm actually more upset on not getting any response.

And I did say to him, you would rather not give me the discount, pay to ship it, have me return it and order it at the discounted price or (not at all) then ship the same exact fairing back to me. Doesn't make sense. And I know its only $100 but hey I could use it

Ordered a set of handlebars from a well known outfit. Bars were to be made as they didn't have the ones I wanted in stock. 4 months went by and I kept getting different excuses. Finally i told them to refund my card and I'd go somewhere else. Suddenly my bars were going to ship the next day along with some free schwag.

If you had the fairing painted I doubt you have any chance of a return; most store (on and off the net) will have policies against any special order/altered (painted) parts - but good luck - if they gave you the discount - I think you should consider yourself lucky - plus IF they do allow a return (at no fault of theirs) you'll definitly pay 20% or more "re-stocking" fees and lose the shipping and handling

That's why I wanted this done before they even shipped. I was going to tell them don't bother shipping it. The refund just says 30 days, nothing about restocking fee

Funny how that happens. Wonder why they wouldn't just ship them, maybe met the sales quota for the month and was holding off
