I second that Motion ! >> In July 2008 i Invested in the CrossXBones. Never Realized that one day this could be a HD Collectors Item.
Now knowing that i have a 1 Off Custom Collectors Dream in a few Years ... Makes me say Thank You Harley for taking it off the Line-Up .. Especially now these Bikes will be Wanted More than Ever !!
For All of Us X-Bone Owners its a Few & Far now that at Every Traffic Light .. There wont be a Bike that looks just like yours .. LOL
I love my Crossbones one of the most awesome bikes I have ridden and 3 years down the road it still gets the looks on club night in a carpark full of Harley's but I'm glad Harley have pulled the plug on both bikes Harley need to pull bikes to replace them with new versions and one thing for sure we will get one version of them back again in a few years maybe a rocker with a springer front end or a bones with the 240 rear end we wait with bated breath
I've had so many people have positive comments on my bike,, if they didn't make the crossbones in such ugly colors they would have sold a ton more.. sorry but silver with baby blue stripes ,,, the orange only looks good on the baggers in my opinion.. the dark blue was nice, but baby blue pinstripes... uggghh... in black it looks bad *** i think... hence the "black line" of bikes in 2008...
wtf hd,, there is many other colors that go than baby blue pinstripes... even the new 2012 wide glide has a nice dark blue with ... guess.... baby blue again,, omg its ugly

Some of the colors may seem strange and people claim that only black is old school, but the 1930's and 1940's Harleys came in some very different colors, including baby blue, orange, lime green, "UPS" brown, etc...... Black may have been one of the less common "old school" colors back when these bike were the only bikes.
I can't speak for the Rocker, but I still think the Crossbones was discontinued because of it's incompatibility with ABS brakes, which is where HD is heading. They had an inventory of Springer front ends to use, so they used them. It will be a shame to see the disappearance of a classic Springer from the HD lineup.

UNFORTUNATELY, I agree with you. Vivid black looks good but the paint is too easily scratched and shows dirt too easily. The "denim" powdercoat look was nice! I do not care for the orange, silver, or... other weird combos!
