I say BRING BACK THE CROSSBONES but with swingarm bag, engine guard, highway pegs, blacked out V&H pipes with 110 motor WITH INTEGRATED OIL-COOLER all standard for $19,999.00!!!
what the hell would you do with it after you bought it? besides ride it!
Interesting results so far! If you tally up the percentages for:
1. Keep the Crossbones
2. Keep both models
3. Keep them all but make some modifications
The favorability percentage for the Crossbones is around 68% for all respondants, so far. Odd decision by HD to discontinue this model unless, like I said earlier, it has to do with the compatibility issues of the Crossbones with the ABS brakes that HD is migrating to. Maybe they had to get rid of their inventory of Springer front ends?
Forum moderators, something screwy happened when I posted this and my message was replicated several times....weird
I'm glad I bought a Crossbones in April. I replaced the seat with a Brawler and with it the riding position is perfect for me. I really like the looks of the Springer front end too. Can't go cross country with it because there is no storage on it. My SE CVO Softail Convertible is my long trip ride.
I voted to keep the Crossbones. Harley Davidson has always had a Springer in their line-up and it doesn't seem right to let go of the very type of model that brought them into the market in 1903/1904. The classic springer will always have a following, especially by those who are fans of Harley Davidson. Only a glance at the number of currently made custom bikes with a Springer front end will tell you there's a viable and strong market. Sure, they're not compatible with the company's direction toward ABS brakes, but that's not what the Springer is all about.
I'm glad I bought one in their last model year and also in a color that was only offered for one year.
.
I agree. I just bought a 2011 Cross Bones Black. Always liked the Bones Always Will. I just had to pull the trigger sooner. As the motor company stopped production on the Bones. I always wanted a springer now I have one. I think the motor company will be coming out with another model springer soon.
