Yup. Today, as I was heading to work on my Iron 883, I thought "man, I love that skinny, stretched tank" as I wove in and out of traffic with spectacular acceleration. haha
Seeing that I had a Iron 883.I would say your claim of spectacular acceleration,is a slight exaggeration.Unless you have the 1200 kit or something.Klf ,sporty is a great bike but don't get rid of your softail for one.I agree you will regret it within less than a month.
My first HD was a Sportster years ago. Coming home from a day at work and just taking a nice ride in the evening, it was probably my favorite of all. Probably wouldn't want one for my only bike now though.
i plan on gettin a sporty in the future and doin something with it, but wont get rid of my train to do so. sportsters are just to small for an everyday bike. but now im itchin to get one
I was at the MoCo dealership picking up clear turn signal lenses.
And I sat on the Nightster with apes, this skinny small tank gave me a serious chubby .
I am seriously thinking of selling my Standard and getting this bike, it is lighter, faster and for sure less on insurance.. but .. I just spent too much time and money on my current bike, it hurts
Man I would rent one first and then think long and hard before you move down to a sporty..Small bike and you will tire of it pretty fast, IMHO that is. I have tried the sporty thing twice and it did nothing but cost me to move back up.
You'll regret trading bikes.......why not pick up a used Sporty and customize it slowly as your heart desires?????? Your second bike will not be much more on your insurance payment if your company is like mine.
I understand your insurance dilemma, my cousin lives in Ottawa and tells me anything over a certain ci/cc is ridiculous on ins. I agree with some of the other guys that going down to something that small may cramp your riding. +1 on renting one for the day, even though most HD dealers in Canada make you pay so much per KM over a set amount. Just something to ponder.
dem sportster are bad **** mang! i think they can be made shaweeeet
specially for needle peeps LOL
i'd keep yer scoot save for a basket case (cheap sporty)
I run a 2011 Street Glide 103 and my GF has a 2007 Sporster XL1200 Custom. The ride on mine is hands down better. That being said.....the Sporster if a blast to ride. Damned fast little bike.
