Default High Temp Paint

Thinking about painting my backing plate on the Night Train to Flat Black. Any type of prep work needed? Also will any type of high temp paint work ok? Any recomendations?

I use high temp BBQ paint on my pipes a couple years ago. I had the chrome sandblasted off before I painted them. You may need to rough up the surface before spraying.

I've had GREAT results with DEI high temp Silicon spray.

I painted my heat shields, but haven't got around to the megaphone just yet. The DEI is twice the finish as the ceramic that came on my bassani.

As far as prep, I sanded down to bare metal, cleaned with acetone and painted. It's CRAZY tough and has a nice, matte black finish.

In the pic below, you can tell the difference between my painted heatshields and the subpar bassani finish. 5,000+ miles on the heatshields and they still look great.
