I left my new rims off at the HD dealer and asked to have a set of E 3's put on. The dealer called me back today to tell me they are not available for this bike. What comparable tire should I consider now? Not sure the dealer carries anything other than Dunlops and I am not sure about getting those.
Check their sizes on the web site, both radial and bias. My Heritage calls for a 150 on the rear. I'm running a 160 E-3 and all is well. You might at least get close to your sizes.
could I just ask why you're sold on a set of E3's? and why not check out a set of Avons or Metzeler's or something of that nature?
When I talked to the service mgr about doing the rims a month back he suggested going to E3's as they were a better tire. Now that we are doing the rims he finds out they are not available in my size. The dealer doesn't carry any other brand than Dunlops. Either I take my rims back and start at an indy or let the dealer install the rims and 407's. My trip is planned for next week and time is short for someone else to order spacers, bearings and other parts. I would prefer metzlers if I had a choice.
Most dealers either stock Metzlers or they can get them for you fairly quickly. I love mine, would never go back to Dunflops, I don't care how many "new" tires they come up with! A piece of sh*t by any other name is still a piece of sh*t!
