Default Softail 1992 True Duals questions

Does anyone know the difference and why Samson makes a 1995 Heritage Softail Fishtail kit (pipes, etc) and not for a 1992? Is the EVO motor not the same in this bike? Is it just brackets that are different but the header pipes are the same?

I am getting ready to purchased a True dual kit for my 1992 Heritage Softail and from what i gather only Paughco and Bassani make the kit for this year of softail?

Anyone know why Samson doesnt offer this kit in a 1992 year? I even asked them and I received a generic reply, "we dont offer this kit for that year".

I don't know offhand but do know that the earlier softails do not have holes in the frame on the left side of the bike. I have also read that you can drill and tap the frame to accommodate the pipes. Let's wait for JR from Samson to respond. I am certain he knows.

Drew is correct. The frame on the left side does not have holes drilled but they can be drilled and tapped and will accept our mounting bracket when spaced properly. Please keep in mind this is for Softail models from 1990-1994. From 1995- present there is no problem with mounting.
Thank you,
JR

JR,

So basically this is for just a bracket that holds the pipes along the frame only on the left side and basically the kit you sell from 1995- is fine and will bolt right up.

As long as you drill and tap the holes in the frame yes, it will bolt right up.

Drew,

Well that gives me 3 options on Vendors. I wish I could locate a set used first but I might have to drop the serious cash on one of the 3 main players in the game.

I really hate whats on my bike right now.

You said this info is for 90-94 softails,is there something different in 1989 models? I´d like to get duals on my ´89 Heritage.
