Cant figure it out, on my 09 Rocker I noticed some play in the Fork stem cap and after unscrewing it I found the stem nut was so loose I could turn it with my fingers. I tightened it up to the 80-90lbs spec and no more than a few weeks later it is so loose i can turn it with my fingers again. I checked the manual and nothing is missing, cap, nut, locking washer. is anyone else having this problem? any thoughts?
Still a bit lost on why it would loosen so easily. In the manual it refers to the washer at the stem bolt as a locking washer and to line it up with the slot at the tripple tree. I checked it out on mine and it is no more than a flat washer. I thought they may have used the wrong part during assembly so I took it down to the dealer to show them, but the shop boss said that it is the correct subbed part, and to just torque the nut to 80lbs and i should be fine. I rode for about an hour and sure enough it was thumb loose again. I have only been tightening it while on the side stand, would it make a difference if i put it on a lift first taking the weight off the forks?
Kowen, I have not tried losening the pinch bolts on the lower brace. I didnt see that in the manual, but then again the manual isnt much for trouble shooting.... would that be the correct next step?
