Licks NOVDOT 3/4 and ACC 1/2 that I got ripped off on as being "DOT"... 200 bucks wasted.

Bell Drifter no good lifts off head at 50+ mph. Wants to go para sailing waist of money. HD half helmets lots of wind noise in ears. Full face can't see my zipper. Full face modular HJC works good for me as can lift up front at stop light or to take a leak. Good cold weather helmet.

Bell Drifter "Speed Shop". Get compliments all the time. Great quality.

Go to some dealers (HD & metric), try a few on, note make/model/size & search/order online. Best method I found to date...this way you get the fit & type down BEFORE buying because some dealers won't return helmets w/o re-stock fee, or discounted price.

The best helmet I have ever came across is one of my old trusty sweat staind stinky ball caps. The helmets to avoid are the ones that sit on your head and have one of those straps that goes around your chin.

Over the years I have settled on FF helmets with both DOT and Snell certification.

HJC does that as some others do also. My slow old brain needs all the protection it can get.
