how deep are your pockets. a super charger would give some impressive horsepower gains, or even the turbocharger setup.

Jerry Branches set up for Evo's has been the standard for over 20 years (unless you want to stroke it) 101 hp and 100 torque. He's the one that's going to do the heads on my twin cam here shortly.

Depends on what you want to do with it and how long you want it to last as well as how much green you want to shell out.

I ride a bunch of hills around here so as long as the bike actually has some horsepower, to me great.. but I'm more concerned about torque, as well as reliability.

I had an evo with a top-end rebuild with 10:1 compression.. pretty much same cubes.. was a great setup for hills around here and a strong motor for longevity because though it had a bit hotter cams, it was still relatively stock, and still got great gas mileage to boot.

Otherwise, you can full out get silly with as much displacement as you can go with a stroker kit, etc.. and you'll have a pretty hot motor for a little while until it's done for. If I were going that route, I'd be swapping for a fat inch S&S rather than beating the crap out of an evo.

Maybe something in between such as a 95" build with the top-end.. some good head/valve work, good cam combination and good exhaust.. There are some great combinations out there that have been fairly well established for evo top-end, cam and bolt-on kits.

An exceptional builder might be able to realize 1:1 Horsepower / Cubic Inch ratio.
