Default Night train performance ??

I have 2003 night train..
Was told it had Andrews 26 cams??? In it..
I have the v&h pro pipe 2into1

The original owner just offered me a set of 2006 heads, ported and polished, in trade for some stuff I have... He will do all the work, all I will need to buy is a gasket kit...

He claims the bike now has 85-90 hp....
What would a set of heads line that do for me?
Its a very fair trade... He is a mechanic, owns a shop, so no worries there either...

Just wondering about the benefits?

Why would U want a set of Pitted and polished heads. What part is pitted.?

The heads have to be done to match the type of ridding U do and the cams to work together. Just to throw some type of heads on Ur bike is like playing Russian Roulette.

I know lots of people like to brag about how much TQ and HP their bike makes. Even more so when selling it.
But on a 88er with just the 26 cam's U bike is not making 85-90 HP.

It might get (85+) with a good street port head job for Ur cams and a good tune dyno.

Auto correct got me...
Ported and polished....
Like I said... This is a bike owned by a very competent mechanic...
These were the heads he got for it.... But traded it for a street glide... Kept alot of the parts he had ready for it...

I have no concerns for the mechanical end...
Just, I'm not an engine performance type of harley guy...
If I want to go fast... A 94 Honda cbr 600 for 1200 bucks would handle that...

But this would be a relatively cheap upgrade..
Parts I can't use.... Don't need, for a claimed set of 500 dollar heads, installed... No labor charges...

I just don't know what this does, or accomplishes for me... Or why!

When I had my bike in for warranty work a couple years back, the choice was big bore or cams and head work. The cams and head work was much cheaper, so I went for it. Glad I did. Had the heads decked .036, ported, adjustable pushrods, high comp valve springs, and Crane 310-2 cams installed. After a good tune, it dyno'd 89hp and 94 tq. Not sure of the numbers that a big bore would get me, but from the reactions of the HD techs at the numbers it made, I'm sure it's well above just a generic big bore kit. And for a lot less money.

So, if the heads you're getting are paired to the cams you already have installed, go for it! Like you said, a set of worked heads for some parts you don't need? No brainer. Even if it doesn't help you short term. a few bucks in the future can get you massive power. Just my .02. Good luck!
