Default building 88

I have chosen Screamin Eagle HTCC Heads and Pistons along with a 95 kit andS&S 585 Cams. Anyone else have this setup or opinion on my choices. Should I drop back to lower compression? Going on a bagger and I usually ride double, looking for more torque.

I would touch base with Hillside, Head Quarters or Kingofcubes. Get with one of these fine folks and tell them exactly what your looking for and how you ride. They can port up a set of stock heads and put together a package that you will be much happier with.

Like was said above. contact your local shop and see what they could do. I had my own jugs bored out and my own heads machined and saved myself a bunch of cash rather than buy new parts I dont need. I am much happier with my setup at half the price.

I dont think that is a good combo at all.

I would just use your OE heads with port work and get bagger friendly cams.

2 up is a 9.5 to 9.8 compresion bike. So Andrews 26 cams or Head-Quarters TC-500s would be a better choice.

Honestly dont know much about engine builds. I have a friend who is a mech at harley shop and does builds on the side. He will be the first one to tell you that se engine parts are over priced junk and tries to talk anyone out of using them. All the guys on this forum who seem to know what they are talking about seem to agree, They just are saying in a friendlier way. I have read where a 08 se with 110 cubic inch wasnt even pushing any #s over 100. what a waste of $$$. My bud says what ever inch build you go with you should have the same or better ponnies and torque #s.

I agree with everything said above. An engine with 170 to 185 cranking compression will be good down low where a dresser needs it. Find a local indy that is respected and likes to talk torque not HP.
