Rear Caliper Pryback on Wheel Removal
Well, I made it out the other side successfully Saturday on my first time removing the rear wheel. I removed the plastic fender extension, replacing it with the metal HD plate which allows for continued blocking of debris in the wheel well but without those ugly plastic black "fender extension" sides to it.
One question though... in the manual, it says to remove the brake pad before removing the wheel. I took the cap of the rear reservoir and proceeded to "pry back" the pads, as the manual says to do. This was a very clunky, hacked feeling process. Is there some special method to this other than jamming a flathead screwdriver or paint can spatula in there to bring the pads back?
Only problem I had after that was when I had the wheel back on, I had a tough time getting the pad pins to go all the way back through. Not sure if it was catching on something or what. Had to do some serious jiggling of them and then they went all the way back into place.
Anyways, there's no better feeling than a day of working on the bike, getting everything back together with no "what does that go to?" parts lying on the ground, and an evening ride.

Its also fun to visit a friend who's doing something like that and leave an extra bolt when their not looking, can make for a lot of fun.
But you better be good friends or else.
PS Its considered good manors have a couple of cold ones near to hand for after you let him in on the joke.
...I am still too much of a wuss to leave my bike on the Sears Bike Lift I just bought...
