Default Amsoil 60W

I'm a loyal Amsoil user. 20W50 Synthetic. Recently saw Amsoil's straight 60W synthetic on their web site. I would never use straight 60 weight fossil oil in a Twin Cam but a 60 weight synthetic interest me. My thoughts are that the synthetic properties of the oil would facilitate proper lubrication of all the smaller components.

Has anyone used Amsoil's 60W Synthetic in a Twin Cam? What is your opinion. Note: I live in the tropics where the temperature never drops below 80 degrees.

According to the manual you certainly could use it if temp is above 80. 60 to 80 use straight 50 weight. Synthetic will handle high temps better without oxidizing but dino will work just fine.

What does Amsoil say? Their spec and test sheets will tell you when the next full moon will be. What do they say they designed it for?

I ran Amsoil 20w50 Syn in my 05 Roadking for many miles in all 3 holes, worked well. I switched to Mobile 1 syn in all 3 holes, easier to find neutral, clunked in less and motor ticking cut in half and runs cooler. I have used Mobile 1 in my 07 E/glide and now my 2011 Heritage Classic with great results. I wont use anything else all the way thru, easy to use, no mind games.

What weight of the Mobil 1 do you use? I cant find a 20w50 from them, just a 15w50.

Mobile 1, 20w50, V twin oil. I get mine at Amazon.com or Walmart, motorcycle section, $8.97/qt right now at Wally. Autozone and Advance Auto stock it. I dont use the mobile 4T, this says V twin on the label, 20w50
