on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty, I'd say putting risers on is a 1.5. 30-minute job for a novice.

Step 1. Throw a blanket over your fuel tank.
Step 2. loosen riser caps & support your bars as they come loose. Pull riser caps and set bars on the tank (which already has a blanket on it) with all cables attached.
Step 3. pull the rear covers from your triple tree - 2 hex bolts (each side) and one torx bolt (top rear). You'll see the two bolts holding your risers in when you pull those. The riser bolts take a 3/4" wrench, if I remember correctly. Pull those and remove old risers.
Step 4. Do everything the opposite way, replacing your old risers with the new. But do NOT tighten the riser bolts fully until you have the bars in the position you want and pretty well much torqued down with the riser cap(s). Torque down the main riser bolts last.

Totally easy. Do NOT pay your dealer an hours worth of labor for 15 minutes worth of work!

+1 easy to do! I don't know about 15 mins, maybe 40 mins for first time. But Hoggy laid the process out pretty good, so get after it!
