Default Brake upgrade advice needed

I'm thinking about upgrading the brakes on the deluxe. I would like to try to do the work myself. This is what I am thinking and maybe you guys could throw some ideas my way and tell me what is involved in doing this and any special tools that my be required.

Performance Machine 6 piston front caliper and 4 piston rear caliper.

should I replace the rotors and do I need to upgrade the master cylinder ?

Any other parts that need to be ordered to complete the job?

Thanks in advance
Ed

I have PM 6 piston front a 4 piston rear. Stock master cylinders are fine but get steel braided lines. Stock brake lines flex and the steel braided holds a much higher pressure. I also run Lyndall pads which I love as they are "dustless" which means they are not completely dustless but create much less dust than stock pads keeping everything much cleaner. My bike uses DOT5 fluid stock not sure on the year of yours but you will need a bottle of two of this.

I find they stop better too. However my friend Mr. Lucky disagrees. Bob waiting for your response here. LOL.

I can save you coin on the PM calipers too.

Drew is correct, I just ordered (2) PM 6 piston calipers for my ultra. I did get the chromite cables for the reasons Drew pointed out. I also bought floating rotars (just my preference), but you don't have to have them. I bought my stuff from Dr. V-Twin.

Oh and I'm using stock MC.

Yeah, back wheel needs to be removed to mount the rear caliper. We look forward to speaking with you.

I just put the same set up on my scoot about a month ago.PM 4 piston rear,6 piston front in chrome.Just used the PM pads that came with the calipers.Stock master cylinder with Magnum sterling chromite cables and Ride wright polished rotors.I feel the braking was a noticeable difference with the PM calipers.I would not say dramatic or huge though. It is a dramatic difference in looks and bling factor. As usual Dr V Twin hooked me up with a sweet a$$ price as well.

If you are not looking for the 'chrom'ish' look, I will always recommend the Fabkevin front end kit (that hooks a GSXR 750 front end calibers) .

It saved my life a few times ..

It requires adjusting but once it is done, it is amazing. I had it black powder coated

Here it is on my scoot when I had the white walls

If you are replacing your master cylinders and calipers, I'd switch to DOT4 if your bike is DOT5.
