Default New Engine Drive In

Hey guys,
Got my HD FB Special today ! When the guy at the shop gave me the paper explaining that it is important to keep it in case I want to ever sell this bike I just threw it away in front of his eyes, noway in hell I ever sell it.

My question, since here in Brazil I have my doubts with some of the sellers.

How many miles do I have to drive the engine in, keeping it low RPM and not going to fast in it. What do you guys recommend ? The guy in the store said about 250 miles.

Thanks in advance.

Just follow the instructions in the owner's manual that you should have gotten with the bike.

First 50 miles keep engine speed below 4000 RPM.
Vary engine speed and not above 5000 RPM for the first 500 miles/800 km in any gear.

Don't lug the engine, and use common sense.

Enjoy!

Yes! Do that. And no, you do NOT need a tach (in case that was your next question).
