I am going to do a 95" Big Bore kit on my 2005 softail, compression is 9.6-1, I was thinking about a SE 211 but then thought about the Andres 37G, I am keeping my stock heads and carb for now, I'm looking for more power but not all out drag racing I'm not really that hard on my bike. I still want some mid range power but when I twist the throttle I want it to come alive you know?
The 211 does not come on early in the rpm range. I have a buddy who has them on his Dyna and loves them, but if you want super stump pulling low end torque I would recommend something different. The Andrews pulls from 2200-5600. Sounds like a good choice. http://www.andrewsproducts.com/motor...GEAR_DRIVE.htm
Thanks but I'm not looking for that much low end torque, I was even thinking about the Andrews 50 cams also. I usually get on it half way through the rpm range then crack it wide open, I'm not big on hole shots lol
You dodn't have to do head work, the big bore kit comes in 9.6 or 10.5 to 1, they can vary slightly depending on what thickness gaskets you use but not really enough to matter on this set up. How do you like the Andrew's 37 cams Mike?

What in the Kit determines the Compression? My Big Bore Kit came with Flat-top pistons. Are they using Domed Pistons?
What's the Kit part number?
I like the 37's. I did the Hydraulic Tensionor conversion so that's why I have the N series. They are not really a low end cam but come on strong at 60-70mph and keep going..
I was trying to keep it reliable and not too aggressive...
I just ordered the 37B cams, The kit does come with Flat top forged pistons also, Why what did you think the compression is suppose to be at Mike? I've been normally been seeing 9.6 is what it comes out to with most kits being that or 9.5:1 My brother has the same kit but with 211 cam's going in his, His will be done in a week and mine will be a week after his. I'm doing the Halrey conversion with the newer style oil pump that flows beter and keeps the cams the same just changes the lower portion of the setup on it

I didn't think the 88" to 95" kits brought the compression that high without a domed piston...
