-2 Fork Tubes oil??
and two of my buds bikes, all late model FLSTCI's. This is a excellent product
and by the way those screws you didn't use will definitely work, I used them
in all three sets. They clear with no problem.
I used everything included in the DBI kit with no problem and all three bikes
ride very close to stock.
Our forks set in the exact same position as yours comparing the pictures of
your completed fork ( bottom of cow bell in reference to the taper on the
fork leg). My question is did you preload your the spring when you installed
the kit? You have to cut a 1/2" tall spacer and install it on top of your fork
your spring. What you have now is basically a dead fork, it has to have preload.
Its kind of a bitch to push and thread the plug into the top of the fork
tube but will go. 3/4" PVC is good for spacer material.
I mentioned on my prior post on this thread that I use 30wt Harley fork
oil and 12 oz., you might want to go with 13 oz. since thats what the
service manual calls for.

Hope this post helps, not trying to be "know it all". Just my experience
with the DBI fork kit. Good kit!!

the bike. Work the fork up and down while you're riding it so the oil will
flow down into the lower leg. Hope it works out for you!!
Does this still need the spacer? That is 7/8" above the tube.
Absolutely, it will be a bitch to push it down in the fork tube but
it go in. Your spring is sticking out the top of yours exactly like
the ones I installed. Be sure to ride the bike when you get done
and pump the forks up and down to get oil into the the lower leg.
The dampening tube has very small holes so this is necessary.
I'll check again shortly to see how its going.

when its completed. Be sure to ride the bike or pump the forks
up and down several times. I'll check back from time time to see
how its going. Pops.
in 30wt work the same. Don't use HD extra heavy duty it will make it to
stiff.
The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Suspension oils are not regulated/graded like motor oils and gear oils.
The HD oils on a standardized viscosity scale come in at the following:
Type E (stock oil) 9.5
Screamin' Eagle Heavy 16.8
Screamin' Eagle Extra Heavy 20.5
So basically they are 10, 15 and 10.
All of the Belray oils come in very close or right on with their stated weights.
I use the SE Heavy and it's a big improvement over the Type E. Tried the SE Extra Heavy and it was too still even during the dog days of summer.
