Default ABS Brake Noises

I have a 2011 FLSTN that makes a buzzing noise whenever I go over a bump with the breaks engaged.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you sure it isn't just the ABS engaging? It'll do that if you hit a bump while braking. I'm guessing the bike technically looses traction for a second or two? I've felt it a couple of times, but wouldn't describe it as a "buzzing".

That's not something I'd mess around with. If there's any doubt, you should take it in -- especially while it's still under warranty. Does the ABS light stay on after hitting 5 MPH or come on while riding? Have you check if any codes have been thrown?

I'd say either your ABS sensor isn't working right, or your suspension needs to be tuned to keep the tire on the ground more.

The only time my ABS has triggered, is when I was coming down a steep hill with the brakes on, and then hit a bump at the very bottom.

sounds like they are working, it will trigger when the speed sensor shows the wheel speed differnt between the ft and rear wheels. when a tire hits a bump with the brakes on it will leave the road for a split second thus the brake slows the tire at a faster rate then the rear so the abs engages

Thanks for the input!

I'm taking it into the dealer this week.

My ABS chatters for no apparent reason about 5% of the time I use my frt brake. I put new handlebars on it last week and had too take it to the dealer for new frt brake line. Told them of the problem, they said they couldn't find anything wrong. Got the back back Thursday, been riden it today and same thing happens, it chatters, can't get it to do it, it does it when it wants, doesn't affect the braking but startels you if your not expecting it. Not sure what to do. bike has 7500 miles 2011 Fatboy Lo.
