Default Fatboy Lo Rims.

Forgive me for another OP. My brain is working overtime these days trying to hammer out a game plan for my Lo candy.

Last night at my local A&W bike meet, one of the riders mentioned that it's easy to spot a Lo and at the same time stared at the rims. Well ya a no brainer, but it go me thinking after that. Rarely do I see the Lo's here in the community taking off the rims. I myself am tempted....if it wasn't for being Lo exclusive, I would be definitely consider a new set.

Why do most Lo owners keep them besides $$ issues?

$ is the only reason mine are still on. I wish they were a little more on the glossy side. But I've got plans to put some shadowing in the paint before I spend the $ on rims.

Because I like them.. they look really good, and they're easy as hell to keep clean, soap and water on the black, a little bit of mag cleaner on the aluminium, and they look new again.

I thought about powdercoating mine to be a bit more glossy, but i think that the flatness on the lower half of the bike goes well with the frame, and pretty much because i have a flat exhaust, and truck bed liner'd the brake levers/shift linkage and stuff.. otherwise i've seen 2 (Big Jim's(JIMSFLB), and Panama's) that were completely black/black pinstriped and those looked really good as well.. but, personally, i like the aluminum accent...makes my PC'd rotors match too.

I was thinking the same thing about gloss. Like the disc wheel style, but for my taste would prefer that the black be a gloss.

I couldn't agree more with Jim on this one. I love the easy care of the wheels and they look great on the bike. Just would not be a Fatboy or a LO with out the dish wheels.

I think it's rather cool to have a wheel that is both easy to clean and almost exclusive to the 'Lo' for now. some have added their own touch liek a ride accent trim stripe, or all black, but I plan to keep mine stock.

Believe it or not, I was planning to paint my wheels just like the Lo since like, a year before the Lo ever came out. When it was released I was like, "hey, Harley stole my idea!" Since the Lo became pretty popular, I didn't want to look like I'd copied the wheel paint scheme from them, so was trying to think of something different, until I found these:

They are stock FB wheels, cut, chromed & powder coated by Impress Plating & Polishing and I believe they are the only set they have ever done like this, so that would make them one-off wheels. Look pretty sweet on my Fatty, imho.
