Bought a screamin eagle ignition module at e-bay part 31763-04 fits softail fxst - FLT. The duece has a twin cam engine like other softail harleys, when I try to start the motor it just backfires, that brain of mine can't figure out why the motor won't run. Is the preset timing of the different module models the problem ? Does anyone know the module part number for duece? Thanks Tom.

looking in the parts book the 31763-04 fits all '04 & later Softail models. I haven't got my scanner working right now so I'll type what the book says:-
This module is 50-state street legal, and is programmed to allow the engine to turn 6200rpm. Designed for use on engines with stock compression ratio. E.O. pending on '05 models. (not sure what the E.O. pending means? May have something to do with the EPA as it's written on some of the other Screaming Eagle parts).

Part # 31781-00 fits '00-'03 carbureted Softail models.
