My bars are Drag Specialty 12.5 Buffalo Bars 1 1/4 inch diameter. Orderend them from www.zanottimotor.com for $98.00. I was looking at Wild1s but these were almost identical demensions and the best price I found was $160.00 for Wild1 12.5s. My chrome finish and bends are great. No complaints about the quality. I also ordered my cables (Barnett) from them as well. I used +6 on all cables and brake line. My brake line is the SS HD brake line. The Buffalo Bars also come in 16s or 18s. The 16s are the same price as the 12.5s which is cool if you want to go higher. You can email zannotti for prices and part numbers or go to their site. They also carry Wild1s as well and they are about $50.00 cheaper than getting them from Wild1inc.com.

Good luck.

I see that you have been given some good sites to look up, so I thought that I would add one more. www.wild1inc.com That is where I bought my apes and they were nice to me. Good luck, seems you have some good ideas given to ya.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will look into the higher apes. Any good sites where to purchase the apes and cables?

I have 16"ers on my bike and they are about shoulder high on me. My shoulders feel great and I haven't felt any problems from them. I don't know how the 18's would be, but I sure do like that old school look that they gave my bike. I think that the feel of the taller apes would be a personal thing and it would also depend on the physical makeup of the person. My shoulders don't bother me, so having my arms sticking out about shoulder height doesn't bother me either. Hope this helps

what about the 18inch hangers, how does it feel, do you get sore shoulders or anything like that.

What you see in my sig pic is the wild-1 10.5 mini apes. They are very close to stock, maybe about 1.5" to 2" higher. I was able to use the stock cables and brake lines until I got the braided ones. I got the plus 4" one from Harley. The brake line and clutch cable could have been 2" shorter but the throtle and idle cables were about right. I think if I had it to do over, I would go with the 12.5's.

In my opinion, dont go smaller that 16", you may regret it if you do. the only reason I didnt go 18" is because tatoo bars didnt come in 18", and I didnt like the 2" riser 16" ape combo look. go apes, and go big!!!

I have 13" Paugcho's and love em. I agree with above that the higher
the better in every way (comfort, riding, etc) but depending on where
you live, tickets get old and you may regret going much more than 16".

Can I add two kinda stupid questions in here please? I want to go with the 12.5's as well over the winter. Did you guys do the install yourselves or have it done. Is this strictly a dealer task or can the average wrench turner handle it with all the proper parts. And secondly, will the higher bars effect my windshield?
Thanks,
BA

I love my 16s, but they're coming off for 12.5s. Took a whole two days of riding before I got a $150 ticket for hands above the shoulders.

It's a lot of work, but any average wrench can do it. My least favorite part was extending the wiring, but it's just tedious, not hard. In addition to the bars and the cables, you'll need a primary cover gasket (after adjusting the clutch), transmission cover gasket (after installing the clutch cable), air filter gasket (after installing the throttle/idle cables), fuel hose clamp (if you have to remove the fuel tank, i did), transmission fluid, and brake fluid. I think that covers it. You might be able to reuse the gaskets, but I figure it's cheap insurance not too.
