Default Ape Hangars

Been looking at putting 10.5" ape hangars on the Heritage for a while now. Anyone out there have any input? I have ridden another Heritage with Apes for about two hours but mainly on interstate and want to know a little more on handling. They look awesome especially on the classic. Any takers?

I used to have mid sized apes on my bike. My shoulders felt better after long rides and I was able to sit up straighter so my whole back felt better. They will have an effect on the handling, but I feel that it was better than stock. I also happen to be a fan of apes, but each to his/her own. Good luck

It's funny you should ask, Today I put the finishing touches on my 12.5" Chubby install on my 04 FATBOY. I rode it for about 20 Min. and love the feel. The posture of the ride is so much better and the bike just flowed through the curves. I will be posting some pix soon with some helpful pointers attached. DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!![sm=smiley20.gif]

I agree with all the responses so far...

Handling improved greatly with the 12.5s. I highly reccomend them. I would go with 12.5 or bigger, 10.5s don't seem worth the effort, but to each his own. Good luck.

Thanks for all the input. I think I will look into the higher apes. Any good sites where to purchase the apes and cables?

Go to www.ironeagle.com for some Wild1 chubby brand bars. That's where I got mine and that's also where I found the best deal. I'm stationed out in Korea so with my time off that's all I do is try to find the best deal on the net since there isn't **** else to do out here. The techs at wild1 will be able to help you out with cables lengths and they are very fast to respond. As far as cables you can go to barnett website or google goodyear brake lines.

I love the look of apes on an FL softail. I tried to convince my wife of it for her Deluxe, but wants no part of it. Give her time, she'll come around! [8D]
