Well, thanks to all the advice I received here on this forum I purchased my very first Harley, a 2007 Heritage Softail Classic.
I should maybe explain a little bit about myself...for the past two years I've been riding a 2006 Yamaha v star 1100. I bought that bike with 1500 miles on it and it now has just under 13000 miles. Put 5000 on just this past summer. I LOVE to ride!
Nice. I have an 06 1100 v-star too. They are great bikes. Very comfortable. This summer I rode an 08 dyna street bob and the handling characteristics sold me. I still have the v-star. Keeping it for my old lady. Just so you know these bikes aren't like the jap bikes with a shared sump. So you can use friction modifiers in the engine oil(moly) but the clutch is in the primary so don't put any in there. And honestly if you did your own maintenance on the v-star you know what kind of PITA changing the oil filter is. Your Harley has a spin on type. Which means no dropping the pipes to access the filter. Woohoo. Glad to have ya. Keep er in the wind
