'06 Deuce Speedo Rattle

'06 Deuce Speedo Rattle
I'm starting to get a rattle right about 3k RPM and it really sounds like it's coming from my speedometer. It's a metallic rattle almost like a bell and it's a sound I've heard previously from older tachs and speedos. Is this a know issue on certain bikes and is there an easy way to fix this? It's only at a certain RPM, but once I hit it, it sounds like someone with a little turbo bicycle bell.

I don't know if this is the same noise,but my '02 Deuce had a rattle at highway speeds sounded just like a bell also,drove me crazy,then one day on my way to work I looked down and the ign. switch cover was vibrating around and I opened it up and the rattle went away,so I don't know if this is the samething but you might give it a look.

It didn't come prevalent until after I did the 3" tank lift. I had to remove the bolt from the front of the speedo console to lift it up and fit the vacuum tube on.

*facepalm* Didn't even think of that. That'll give me an excuse to go for a ride during lunch...and maybe even never come back to work.

I kind of liked the black HD cap with the matching gas gauge. Is it going to have the same issue as the stock cap since it's an HD product and most likely of the same design?
