Default anyone changed from rk to crossbones?

Thinking about trading my loaded 2005 flhrs rk custom plus 2.5k for a 2008 crossbones. Just in the mood for something different. I have spent time in the touring section, wanted to see what veterans had to say about it over here. Thanks for taking the time. I do all 1 up riding with only 1 long trip per year. Besides that putting around town.

Go for it. Once you get the XBones dialed-in, it is way comfortable. Got back from Sturgis in August, 5,200 miles round trip. Most comfortable bike I've owned.

You just may enjoy that in-the-bike feel . . .

I think the only thing you may miss is your saddle bags for carrying stuff. I don't own a bones, but I have ridden them, and if I didn't buy my Lo I was getting a bones. Awesome bikes in my opinion and love the springer as well.

I did just the oppisite sold the crossbones and bought a road king. I rode the bones for a year and a half and been on the king for 2 years. That being said no bashing but I never thought once I made the wrong decision. The road king is by far the better for touring or long trips especially two up. Iam not saying you cant do that on the bones the bones is a fun bike and if all you ride is what you describe it might be alright for you. I wouldnt mind having another one if I had the garage space and means to buy another but for a one bike guy the king is better suited for my riding style. I weight 275 and 6'3" and ride two up 20% of the time.

I went from a 09 RK to a Crossbones, I think the Crossbones looks a ton better. Only thing I miss about the RK are the saddle bags and the cruise control....

I've never ridden a RK, but I love my bones. I put on a mustang two up seat, with drivers backrest for long trips, windshield comming from klockwerks, engine guards with pegs, and my style of bags. I don't think you have to miss anything. Just like any other softie you can make it what you want. I would like cruise though......
