Thinking of going to a few rallies next year so I'm looking into getting some leather detachable bags, but I'm real fussy, I've been looking at the Hog deluxe springer oldschool ones and also the Osprey ones that OS_deluxe has on his ride, I think I would quite like the springer shape, any others that I need to be looking at for my Deluxe?, I hate studs and fringes so it narrows it down somewhat. and i like the look of the Easybrackets.
I started with HD bags which were great for around town and nice looking, well made. When a deer and I had an 'encounter' I got a new set of bags from BossBags because HD didn't make the ones that I originally had anymore. I also originally bought a demountable sissy bar and some touring luggage. I don't use the luggage for 4 day trips any more... the bags have a LOT more room in them. HD had cut out space on the inside of the bag so that it would fit models with exposed shocks, too, even though you can't tell from the outside (they are in my pic below). I recommend you wait until you go to a rally and check out your options in person unless you know someone that has exactly what you want. (I picked BossBags at Daytona BikeWeek).
