Has anyone done a 230 rear wheel conversion on their crossbones .
Its something that i did to my 2000 twin cam night train which was fairly involved . Has anyone done one, did they need to move or offset the trans and so on ?
help me please ... my bike is an crossbones 2008 .. now I want the air ride , but wich should I choose, also easy to install . regards from a cold sweden
There are alot of wide tire kits on the market for the softail, the biggest you can go with the stock fender is 210mm, doing a chain is not going to do you any good unless you replace the fender and struts, Like the previous poster said, check out heartland, Roland saned, Performance machine, type in Wide tire dsoftail kit into google alot comes up.
Your question on the air ride is subjective, best to some people means different thinks, some people think the cheapest is the best, some people think an all in one unit is the best ect...Get the manuals for each of the systems and see if its something you can tackle yourself or if youll have to out it in the shop The best thing to do is research research research. Thats what i do, I read all kinds of topics threads and mull over parts for a while before making a selection on an expensive part/upgrade.
Cheers Black Lightning. I did a 230 conversion to my 2000 twin cam night train so a different fender and struts arent a prob for me just i feel that although the do a 210 50 for the back the profile isnt deep enough the look im gonna aim for is like this .
It has a 170 15 up front and the old 230 15 in the rear
