I lowered my deluxe with the burly slammer kit, after going for a 6 hour ride i cant believe how much harder it rides,i dont mind it all my hot rods ride the same way,my wife hates it,,will a rear air ride make it ride smoother then it does?

Yes, an air ride will make your bike ride better than stock. You can ride soft or hard depending on what you like. Only way to lower your softail without ruining the ride. Shotgunshock FTW!

see,in the hotrod world bagging a rod does not make it ride any softer unless you use large bags and lower pressure, and its front and rear,,also i figured its still going to be the same up front being the rear is air,,,i dont have any experience with air ride for a bike,

I just bought an 2003 Fatboy this week that has the Progressive AIr Ride with the onboard compressor. Ride is very very good. Takes some time to get the setting right, however, I just came off a BIG DOG Pitbull, rigid frame, so anything would seem good compared to that

Did you go with heavy fork oil up front? it helps...

and extending bolts in the rear blows for 2-up ... Shotgun Shock is what you want.

+1 on air ride. Feels like riding in a Lexus, depending on the setting you use. If you want to ride slammed, tho, even air ride won't help you much. Little to no margin for shock absorption. I almost never ride it slammed. I ride at or a bit below stock height and then (usually) dump the air for that slammed look when I park it.

Yea with the bike slammed down that low, your ladies rump will go fly-en. Just ask one of my "EX" ladies... Her tail went flying high. That's the exact reason why i went with the Shotgun Shock. Your lady will thank you in different ways when you get her a nice air ride.

As for the front lowered down a couple inches. with that heavy weight fork oil that's as good as it gets.. A little bumpy, but manageable.

good luck bro-
