I have an 06 Deluxe and it used to lurch whenI started iteven with the clutch pulled in too. I also had a problem getting it into neutral. I had the clutch adjusted at the 1000 mile service and that all went away.

had the clutch adjusted
Maybe that is my problem. I went into a Performace shop yesterday and there was another guy saying that he was having some issues with the tranny. After he left, the owner said that he has been hearing a lot of that with the 07. I hope that is not the case. I see that there has been a lot of people on this forum that say that they have not NO problems. Go figure!

If that is your problem, it won't take but a minute to adjust it. Once it was done, man what a difference.

BTW BarryN, that is an awesome Deluxe. My friend got one just like it for Christmas (except for the apes). She had a Softail Standard she sold so she could get the Deluxe with that paint set and a bunch of extras. Then she started feeling selfish because her husbands bike is older and not near as nice, so she ordered a stock Deluxe in black with no extras. She ordered the bike and as she went out the front door of the dealer, her husband came in the back door and ordered the Deluxe she really wanted with that beautiful paint set and everything she could ever want on it. She had no idea until the dealer called and said her bike was in and she went to pick it up. She still gets teary eyed when she talks about it.

I had that problem with the headlight slipping. I tightened it myself and it's stayed put.
At the 1000 mile service I watched while the tech adjusted the headlight by just reaching over and pulling on it. It couldn't have been very tight.

WOW, is she still speaking too you. I do love this paint set. I just installed a back rest for the solo set because I do a lot of highway riding and like the back rest and high way pegs.

Actually, she does. I am benefiting from it too. I can see all the mods I think I would like to do to my bike on hers, and make an educated decision without spending a dime.

Frisco42 your custom looks sweet! Is that the sport windshield? How does it work for you? Is there enough width & height? My dealer is trying to convince me to go with a standard windshield, cause I'll only use it for trips & cold weather.

In all probability your local dealer is sending home their technicians because the 07's are performing so well that they have no warranty work to speak of. However, I am glad I purchased my 07 and didn't wait. Rumor has it that because of all the negative complaints the MOCO has received from those that do not own an 07 they have decided to scrap the twin cam 96 and 6 speed and go back to the 88 5 speed in 08.
