Brake light problem
If so you may have inadvertently broken the plunger to the brake light switch.
Its not an uncommon problem and lots of us have done it by accident.
When you take the lever off your supposed to put something in there to hold the plunger back while you reinstall the lever.
If you don't you can easily push sideways on the plastic plunger with the lever and break it in half.
Once broken it its no longer long enough to push in on the switch that turns the brake light off when you release the lever.
The only fix is to take the lever off and get a new plunger if you can or take the entire switch block apart and replace the switch assembly with plunger.
PS this is one of the reasons a lot of us (myself included) think that getting a service manual, and reading it, before you start taking things apart that makes it nearly mandatory to have.
Its the little things like this that it tells you about that can save you a lot of time, trouble, and money.

Thank you, you explained it better than the book, Drew mentioned his friend having to use a bit of tape, I understood and tried it myself and it worked for me, guess I was lucky
Thanks again guys,
