Default Ok, my 2002 Fatboy arrived last night.....

After starting it up I could tell the V&H pipes were gutted out. How hard is it to buy some baffles and put them back in the pipes? Thanks!

Very simple. baffles are $29 each or so. Held in by one bolt each baffle.

Yep, that's it... The DR is right!
But don't expect too much: I find the difference between with and without baffles very small. It's loud!

I'd go with the "quiet" baffles. They aren't much quieter than the standard baffles but give you a slightly deeper tone. Might even give you a little more low end. Plus, the hard work is already done. Sometimes it's a bitch to get the old ones out.

Mine didn't have baffles when I got it (fortunately they were in the box of take offs I got with the bike) and I put them back in. If you don't have to take the heat shields off it's simple. On my short shots staggered I did have to take the heat shields off and that was a bit of a pain. The bike sure runs better with them in.
