I originally intended on getting a 2012 blackline until the dealer gave me on offer on a 2011 that I couldn't refuse. He took a few thousand off the price, threw in a 103 upgrade and about $700 worth of pegs, grips, etc. Can anyone tell me what the difference will be between having a 2011 upgraded to a 103 and a stock 2012? Have I done the right thing? Will this limit me from doing any engine upgrades in the future?
The SE 103 kit will give U a lot more TQ and Hp over what the new stock 103 will give U..
????'s Are U putting in the SE 255 cams with that upgrade.???? .... Those cams are OK,, But there are better pick for U bike... They are stump pullers for HEAVY bikes, BUTTTT for Ur lighter bike and more so if U ride solo, their are better Picks..
Cam picks totally depend on Ur riding Style......
For sure The SE kit flattop pistons will be better than the stock 103's
Then, are U going ahead and getting the SEPST and a dyno... That would be My recommendations with the SE103 kit.
Also upgrade to the Torrington bearings (Not sure the 11's Have them) in the cam box.
Over all with the 2k discount, $700 free part, and the 103 kit (another free $1800 install),, IMO I'd go for that..
Only thing Ur missing is the CR's which is not needed unless U UP Ur Compression and the oil cooler which pends on where U live and how much heavy traffic U ride in if U even need it.
What type of cams should I put in? Thanks for all the info guys! I've got another week or so before the Harley dealer starts on the 103 upgrade, so I've got a little time to figure out what else to do.
You could also look into some s&s easy start cams depending on your dealer they might want to stay with se cams 255depending will work fine my buddys sg with 103 se heads and 255i made 112 and 112 but he went with the 10.25.1 slugs has higher crank presure its a fun ride
Tell em you want a 120R upgrade...Go big or go home. Quit messing around with it.... I know for a fact if i had to do it all over i would have. Because you know we hate to last...
After looking around, it looks like the SE 255 cams are available for softails? However, I saw that someone in the forum put in SE 254e cams. Does anyone know which would be steer for a Blackline?

Thanks for your feedback!
Sounds good, however there are several items you may wish to consider:
The 2012 comes with a 103 engine, which includes:
1. The Compensator sprocket installed
2. The Compression release installed
You might want to price out the installation of these items as well, in order to compare apples to apples!
