I have a slight problem with my kick stand banging my bottom cover now that I put some Arlen Ness forward
controls on my Train.
Anyone else had this problem, and what did ya do to fix it?
Right now I have a piece of vacuum hose that I cut spitting the hose, and used Permatex black
to hold it onto the edge of the Jiffy stand where it bangs on the cover.
Worked pretty good and really doesn't look bad either.
Was wondering if there is some other method to fix this.
If it only hits in one small spot you might try looking in the local Home Depot or Lowes for one of the small rubber bumpers they sell for the bottom of chair legs or to put under glass table tops.
Use a little bit of Gorilla glue ot JB Weld to stick it on the stand leg or the bottom of the cover where it hits. The glue or epoxy should hold it on and not be as obvious as a length of hose.
Any one of these aftermarket companys(bikers choice,J&P,ETC.) have an adjustable kickstand stop very simple cure for the stand hitting the primary cover.
I've got the Ness forwards and my jiffy stand hits the primary cover when I raise it up...it doesn't rattle when I'm riding so I never gave it much thought but it would be better to have a rubber bump stop on it I guess.
