Default Fatcat is on!

Installed my fatcat today thanks to Drew and the Dr. Only took a few hours after me mf'ing everything in my garage! Only issues I had is the relocation of the passenger footpeg since the new bolt is to short and the pipe shifted a little on my test ride and contacted the cam cover.

Anyone know what the deal is with the passenger footpeg relocation, because d&d said it should fit.

After:

Foot peg issue:

Top is new screw and what are the two little black caps for?

I cant figure out the issue with the rear pipe hitting the cam cover. It only contacts when the bike is warm. I talked to d&d and that said to run an extra exhaust gasket which I did and I also added an extra washer to the muffler mount which made the spacing better. It did not correct the issue though.

Cool:

Anyone know what the issue is? Hopefully drew will chime in.

I put my Fat Cat on 3 years ago and wrote it up in the review section.
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/produ...et-baffle.html

My rear pipe is close to the cover also, but doesn't touch.
I fitted the exhaust together on my living room floor to make sure everything looked and fit okay.
The heat shields didn't go far enough aft to cover the weld at the collector. I loosened everything and used a rubber mallet to tap the shields about 3/16" to 1/4" further aft
(the most I could move them) then re-tightened the shields to the pipes. Maybe by me doing this I managed to get just enough additional clearance to stay off the cover when the exhaust got hot.
The main reason I wrote the review was to let people know that the heat shield may have to be moved aft a bit. If you don't notice this until the exhaust is on the bike you can't get to the hardware to loosen the shields unless you take the exhaust back off.

Just seems rather silly the pipe is that close to the side cover. Are the pipe lengths perfectly even on the D&D? Otherwise a slightly shorter pipe would have made a world of difference. Sure is a good looking exhaust anyway.

Hmmm. I didn't' have that issue on mine. It was close, but not that close. How does that bad boy ride? Hows the torque?
