Took the bike for a quick spin in the cold today, came back and gave her a final look over, and saw this weird metal tab/clip sitting on the motor, kind of right under the air cleaner. Theres a tiny bit of adhesive on it but it came off very easily.
Didn't notice it before I went out so I'm thinking maybe it fell from my stage 1 air cleaner? I didn't do the work myself so I'm not sure if thats where it came from. Maybe it just jumped up there from the road today? Or maybe it's been there since day one and I'm going crazy?
That's from under the tank, it holds the wires to keep them from flapping about.. the adhesive isn't that magical.. i've had a few fall off (though they were still pressed down and hanging on the wires)..some 3M double sided tape should do the trick. Problem is, you need to now lift the tank up and see which wires it was retaining (it's not a critical piece, meaning it won't hurt you from riding, it just keeps wires in place)
It also looks like one of the tabs used to hold the dash bra down. The wires under the tank are held to the frame with plastic push clips with loops on them. I have also seen some bikes with that clip that holds the dead connector to the back side of the air cleaner.
I love Harleys, but so far I have 500 miles on the clock (owned a month or so) and already needed a turn-signal bulb replaced, oil line ends tightened/checked due to a small oil leak/drip, and now a wire clip falls off.
I'm not complaining but man... a brand new bike you'd think nothing would happen for a while?! Haha!
Oh well, no matter. Small annoyances, and free to fix!

I wouldn't let that get to ya.... That is more a dealer issue than a Harley issue. The guys that put the bikes together just don't pay close enough attention at some places.
