took off the extentions that were on the stock shocks.
then ,(your gonna laugh) raised the preload on the shocks untill I could get my motorcycle jack under it ...
I used to have to use boards under the tires to use the jack.

Its an adapter screwed on from a lowering kit. My Softail has the SE shocks on it and I have a set of regular standard ones. The standard ones are around 1" shorter then the SE. Both have the front thread part for the bushing as a single unit back into shock. Adapting would worry me but it must work for many. Opposite from what most realize extending the shock drives the suspension / tire up into wheel well lowering bike.

Can somebody with a Heritage with OEM rear suspension jack their bike up so that there is no weight on the back wheel and give me this "X" measurement?
