Yesterday I attempted to adjust the preload on my Fatboy shocks when I discovered that the rubber bushings at the end of the shock stems were completely deteriorated. They had turned to a Gummy Goo. WTF? I can only guess that some sort of solvent got onto the rubber and dissolved them. Never seen this before. Luckily I had an old set but I need to purchase new ones.
