Since it sits inside the struts does it make contact with your paint above the strutline?
Looks GREAT but I'm not sure I could deal with the wear it would leave if I decided to remove it from time to time.

I placed a piece of paper on each side of the fender before slipping the bar between the fender and struts to avoid any rubbing above the strut. Once in place, there's no contact with the fender above the strut. After mounting, I pulled out on strut and removed paper.
Thanks. Attached is a pic of the fatboy lo I had with 16" apes and solo.
I like this sissy bar, it mounts behind the struts, although yours is probably easier to remove.
OWOF looks sweet! i want him to make me 1 for my blackline. What measurements does he need? Thanks jay
He doesn't need any measurements unless you want a different height or other change like twisted or a backrest pad mount. Mines is 16". It looks even better in person than photos.
I no longer have Fatboy or V-rod, but picked up a 2012 Blackline. Love this bike. Reminds me of some of my 80's scooters. Found this great guy Raybowtieman that custom bends, welds, & powdercoats sissy bars. He didn't have one yet for the Blackline, so I sent him some measurements and he made the first one. He will be adding these to his store.

He make bars for other models also. These are clean one piece units that go between the struts and fender. Now I can strap on a sissy bar bag, sleeping bag, etc. Old school look for the Blackline.
What is the bar runnung through the holes for? was that a hanger for painting?
