Close to pulling the trigger on these but wondering if anyone is riding with them yet? I was looking to swap my drag bars for a set of 12" with 1.5" risers. Hoping it may help my back (keep me from slouching as much.)
Looking for pics, advice and what ya think of the quality.
I ordered mine from the Doc a couple weeks back. Got here before the end of the same week.
Quality is top notch. They are beautiful bars, and I can't wait to ride with them.
I went with 16" bars, and they're going on my 2003 Heritage Springer. I still don't have them installed, but hope to get that taken care of soon (waiting for a Carlini FSAP2).
I can't imagine how they wouldn't help you and your back. Drag bars look bad ***, but ain't for the longer hauls.
FWIW, I went round and round with myself on bars. In the end, it was either these or the Carlini Pist Apes. I do not regret the nice curves....

i wonder where the notion drag bars are not good for long hauls, yep apes are? i have a bad back, from afew serious car accidents. and ride a bike with tbars (might as well be drag bars). they are setup right, and when in the saddle my back is straight, sit upright, and arms right out in front of me. I rode with a set of 16inch apes, for a weekend, no way that is comfy for a trip. I made 30 milesand hands were numb. I have made plenty of 800plus mile days with tbars on a bike, and drag bars before that.
but those do look like good quality bars.

Meh, to each his own I suppose. If that's what works for you, I got no beef.
I have a buddy with a 2000 Night Train. It has a set of Flanders bars on now, but they're just straight across. Mounted on a set of 4" curved risers. Those bars combined with forward controls make for an uncomfortable position, at least to me.
We are however installing some HD 16'' apes. Having them mocked up makes things much more comfortable. Again, that's just me.

I guess what I mean to say about helping my back is that currently I have drag bars on 6" risers with forward controls. This combo has me bent in half. Oh and I also have the bike lowered about 2". LOVE the way the bike looks with this setup. So you mix all that together, and the fact that I have 2 slipped discs in my lower back, things start to get sore pretty fast....not even talking super long rides.
I'm sure I could do the same thing with dragbars sitting on taller risers with more pull back but I figure why not mix up the look if I'm going to do something.
Doc- be in touch soon. Trying to figure out if I want to go a different direction with the risers.
The thing that I find about apes is that with my arms higher in the air it keeps the pressure off my lower back regardless of where my feet are. I run extended floorboards (19")that allow me to move my feet around for added comfort as well.
