yes, I want fishtails (longtails). Are there differences between fishtails and longtails for the sound?
Which is the best vendor for samson pipes (cheaper)?

Drew (Dr. VTwin) should chime in here shortly and will happily be your vendor. He'll also be able to answer any and all questions about the Samson fishies, since he's not only a vendor but a loyal Samson patron...

i am in progress of putting black 33in samson fishtails on my xbones.
not sure if you have knowledge for installing exhaust....but here are so e basic tips that izve learned.

it is easy to do...
couple of tips for samsons

-buy part #a-130. these are thinner chrome flanges. mush easier to adjust vs moco thick ones given the pipe clearance. http://www.samsonusa.com/A-130.html

-install and adjust the pipes with the bike level on a jack stand or something. when you do it on the jiffy, your perception of "true" is skewed. makes it hard to level.

-take time. adjust...tighten...look at pipes...loosen...(repeat) till perfect

-fishtails have 4 adjustment points on shifter side and 3 on the ac side. flange....pipe....pipe...bracket and flange...pipe....bracket adj points. so many ways to adjust or screw it up

-you can actually install the tAils upsidedown (just flip the sides....rh side on the left, lh side on the right)..some people do this on pourpose...some by accident

- buy some blue painters tape from home depot and wrap/protect your pipes and bike during install

-make sure you change out all the gasketts and tighten to correct ftlb

-check your 02 sensor threads. one of my was messed up due to my prior short shot install. so, i just got new o2 sensors. they were about $85 for a pair. they went in with no problem. dont forget hi temp anti seize

-you need to use the "bent" shift linkage that comes with the pipes to shift properly. i just bought a new jokermachine straight shift linkage onlyi about a month ago....i have to take that off to use the samson bent one

- instructions on the samsons are kind of confusing for the bent linkage. the directions say bent part towards the rear of bike and pointing up. this is misleading depending on perspective. it should say bent part towards the rear and bend part pointing down (it should look like a "V".....not a "^"

-loctite all screws

-when pipes are all off, (old off, before samson install) good time to clean those hard to reach areas

-if you are thinking about switching out any covers....cam, tranny, primary...do it now! you have the pipes off so it will save you time in the future

some of the tips may be basic...sorry if i insult you, figure others may read this and get a nugget or two. plus im sure i missed a bunch of other great tips that could have made the install even easier for me.

im still installing them on my pig. my shifter side rear frame bracket was a little warped preventing me from getting true alignment. im waitng on a new one from samson.

but, the fit, finish and customer service (so far) is really good.

my new bracket couldnt get here any faster!
