need advice on purchase
a friend is selling a 1995 softail classic that has 5 miles on it. It was delivered to her heated storage unit and kept in mint condition - started every week or so in the summer but never ridden. Looks showroom as it gets.
Any idea on value? Warnings because it its age?

I agree with the others Dude, I would have to wonder why just 5 miles, no matter what story she tried to feed me. I also agree, seals, gaskets, rubber, tires, tune, carb gunked up and so on. I am not saying this bike has all of these things but I am saying it is more likely that it does than that it doesn't!! A pig in a pretty dress is still a PIG! 5k to 7k would be tops for me and a good harley mechanic looking at it before hand too! Good luck and I would love to know how this turns out too.

Sorry I can't help with the value..........
TRUE story, my brother found a mint classic car from the 70's in the same situation and bought it asap...It LOOKED beyond belief for it's age!!!! BUT, like some of the other folks were alluding to, EVERY SEAL AND GASKIT IN THE CAR WAS JUNK...and I mean every one!!! It was a huge cost in money and time to fix...be careful and if you do it, pay the appropriate price for the work to be done.
If the priceis right go for it if the seald and gaskets end up leaking you can fix them could be a good expeirence for you

I would not buy it without having someone look at. If there's snow on the ground, you can have a shop test drive it on a dyno. It will need a few things for sure, like tires and a belt, all new fluids, and like the rest have said, at least a few seals, fuel lines, carb work... That being said, if you get it for the right price, and it's the bike you want, then go for it. Just don't be fooled into paying top-dollar thinking that you are getting a brand new 1995 bike.
