OK guys and gals, I'm thinking about getting this bike. He wants $5000.00 I offered $3000.00. What issues do these have that I should be concerned about and is my price on?

Issues? lets see, I have a 2005 that I had from new. Yes some of them do carb fart, some worse than others. I had my left mirror break and not hold adjustment. I had the belt guard break and had to replace. Other than that routine maintenance. Mine seems like it idles high sometimes and I was going to do intake gaskets and carb gasket etc. That may help with the carb farts. I think at the age the bike is, that a carb cleaning and reseal wont hurt and the 2004 may need this also. That is all I can think of. You may want to check tires and brakes if it has over 10K miles. I think the mirror and chain guard on mine broke due to the vibration, even though the bike is rubber mounted there is still issues like that.

With less than 6k miles on it, it probably still has the original tires, which are now more than 10 years old. You should definitely count on replacing the tires before you get into serious riding on this bike.
