before i get houded on the search button, i ve looked for weeks. So why is it every forward control kit has to be pieced together? sum need different kickstands, shift linkage, and or brakeline. Jus wundering what my real options are? i found several gloss black sets i like but no seller can tell me for sure if they ll defly work. That to me means NO. Any pics of what u guys have would be helpful.
You should be able to swap over to FX forwards. I did this on my Crossbones. I didn't need a new kickstand. HD sells a kit for the complete swap. But.....if you plan to change pegs and everything else out, It is cheaper to piece it together. I ordered HD accessory brake lever, shift lever, and pegs. Then I got a parts manual and ordered just the left and right side brackets from a FX softail (I went off the 09 Night Train) along with the shifter arm (the chrome piece in the front that your linkage hooks to) I think that may have been it.
Absolute cheapest way would be to find a set of take offs from a 07-10 (maybe 11 and 12 too) from any FX softail
