Default new softails

Look at the HD web page......new models are out and there are some big changes. 200mm rear tires, 6 speed trans. diffrent seat on the standard. Wonder what I'd get on a trade in with only 1700mi. ???? Better keep mine so as to keep the wife too.

Thanks for the info. I just bought a new Springer in May, but that won't stop me from looking at the new models and maybe seeing something that I could install on my bike.

I've got to see how that 200mm tire looks, let's hope there will be a kit for previous years available.

Why'd the Deuce get the shaft on that deal, though? I'd have thought that if any of the Softail's ever saw a 200, it'd be the Deuce. <sigh> Well, like you guys said, maybe there will be a retro-fit kit.

Man- that new NT is awsome. I love the way the fender and rear tire are. Nothing against mine, I just like to drool. Looks like 2006 will be a great year for some of these bikes. I've still gotta get my wife a bike though so I can look forward to that!

Yeah, no kidding I saw the site this morning for the '06's.

6 speeds are starting to make their way SLOOOOOWLY into the new bikes but only the Dyna's it appears for '06.. But it's a great start!

Looks like the fat tires and 6-speeds are Harley's answer to the Victory bikes like the Hammer with the standard 6-speeds and the 250's on the back.

I've heard some say that H-D doesn't change quick enough, but I say they're smart to be very deliberate and cautious about the updates they make. It's nice to know there are parts from 84 to present that fit on my scoot, unchanged for a long time.

But I do say, C'mon Harley, let's have those 6-speeds in the softail and tourbikes and don't jack the prices through the roof for it because you know the manufacturing isn't that much more expensive than 5 speed gearboxes. But I will wait a few years on that for them to get the usual bugs out.

Ah to reach highway speeds and wish I had just ONE MORE GEAR! [sm=shades.gif]

Oh, and howbout the reissue of the Heritage Softail (un-classic) with the older style bars (ala fatboy) and no passing lamps?
Pretty inexpensive way to get into an FL softail.. and kind of '80's retro.
